moon cycles, a tiny roll.diary, and some new fav blogs

Hello and happy January❄️

There was a veritable snowstorm here in Toronto yesterday, so Muskoka and I are still holed up in the apartment. The whole city is covered under a heavy blanket of snow, and it's been hard to get around anywhere as most sidewalks haven't been ploughed yet.

I've been reading The Moon Book by Sarah Faith Gottesdiener. It's not a book you read from front to end, but is best integrated by jumping to specific chapters (the moon phase you're currently experiencing).

I love studying moon knowledge because it allows me to practice/accept the fluidity of cycles. Everything from a microcosm lens, such as my interior life as an artist, the ebb and flow of ideas, motivation, topic-obsessions, to the macrocosm of life/death cycles of everything on our planet and beyond.

Studying the moon cycles helps me regulate my nervous system, helps me be in my body, and teaches me about seasons of life, and the cyclical nature of all things. It's grounding. It helps me release a bit of the control grip I tend towards.
