my journaling ecosystem
Hello from the late afternoon hours. I'm at my kitchen table, basking in low winter light, the freezing rain tinkling against my balcony AC.
I've been watching a lot of journaling ecosystem vids on YT. I love how a notebook keeps you company in a sense. Speding time with a coffee and a notebook in the morning feels so cozy.
tools i'm using rn
Field Notes for commonplacing.
I picked up a plain passport-size Traveler's notebook (without the leather cover) to use as my next pocket-sized commonplace notebook.
I pulled my Moleskine plain softcover notebook off my shelf to continue using it as my sketchbook for a while. I like the brush strokes the markers leave on this paper.
Life Kleid Noble Note Section A5 as my new memory-keeping notebook. This is the first time i'll be using this brand. The pages are cream-colored and have 2mm graph paper. Can't wait to try it out!
Pens: Still using my olive green Kaweco Sport fountain pen. I love it. Also using the Muji smooth gel ink ballpoint pen 0.5, and the Pentel Recycology 0.7mm in pink.
Markers: Still using the Tombow brush pens. I also started using the Staedtler double-ended fibre tip markers. They're nice, but really watery compared to the Tombow brush pens, the bleed-through factor is high, and they don't blend as nicely as the Tombow ones. Still fun to use though and they have a wide color selection. I'll use them until they run out but prob won't purchase them again.

surprise zine mail!
Luke, who writes one of my fav zines, Meatloaf Headache, surprised me by mailing me some back issues. So sweet. I love them all. This is a music zine. On one side a photograph of a musician, and on the other side he weaves one of their songs and a life-moment together in a poignant essay. The tale is typed on a typewriter which only heightens the charm of it all.
