notebook stories | making things just for fun + two inspiring links
It feels like I've had more fun drawing this January than I have in a long time. Perhaps it's using thick markers that don't lend themselves to perfect lines. It feels good to draw silly things with lots of color. Maybe using a notebook that isn't meant for art softens the pressure for perfectionism.
It feels good to play. Experiment. To try things I know I can't draw well but to try anyway.
Maybe that should be my theme for this year.
Letting go of perfectionism. Making things that go absolutely nowhere but to exist solely for my own delight. Just for fun. Just to spend time with myself doing something I love.

I love low-budget vlogs with minimal editing like these. I don't have much experience making vlogs but they feel refreshing in an era of overly perfect things. I want more like this.
